Open Days and Outreach Activities
As with previous years, a series of open days and community activities are scheduled for the 2016 season. The open days are scheduled for Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July 2016. On both days the team will be on site from 10am to 4pm. We will showcase our finds, give site tours and give you a chance to step into the trench yourself.
Throughout the eight week season of excavation other activities will be held in collaboration with Dafydd Hughes at Menter y Felin Uchaf, Rhys Mwyn, and Arwel Jones of the Llŷn Landscape Partnership (a detailed programme will be available closer to the date).
In addition to the scheduled open days visitors are welcome anytime as Meillionydd is an open site. The team will be on site Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm weather permitting. Tours can be given by members of the dig team in the medium of Welsh or English. We also offer site visits to local schools and encourage them to get in touch in advance to organise a date and to help us accommodate the large group. Similarly we ask that any other large groups or societies that wish to visit could also contact us in advance.
If you are interested in volunteering on the excavation, please take a look at the Field School section of our website. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
